First up, Gerald A. Lawson…..any Playstation, Wii, or Xbox fans out there?
Jerry, as he was known, created the first ROM cartridge-based video-game console. Because of his creation, you can easily switch between video-games. From a business perspective, it gave game makers a way to earn profits by selling individual games.
He grew up in Queens, NY and had a long-life love of technology. You can read more about him here.
So, next time you’re gaming, give a shout out to Jerry Lawson and his interchangeable cartridges.
